I’m just going to say it, Winter sucks. The mornings are freeing, the hot water takes too long to heat up and no a hairdryer isn’t a valid heater.
When that alarm goes off my usual thought is, just another 20 minutes or hmmm I’ll just check Facebook and see if a meteor has hit so the government can cancel today but alas, there are still weird cat videos and people spinning those stupid spinner things on their finger. No meteor today so I guess it’s time to get up and do life. Here are the top 5 apps to get you up and out of bed in the morning and ready to kick some butt no matter what day it is!


Sleep Cycle $2.99 

Part of the problem of waking up to an alarm is the shock it gives you. Being woken up from a deep sleep is bound to make you feel groggy, and it makes sense for it to be far easier to wake up from a lighter sleep. Sounds like a delightful start to the day if you ask me!

The Rock Clock – Free

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnston has brought you an app that is part motivational speaker part alarm clock. Each wake up alarm has prompts and sounds written by the Rock himself to give you that early morning wake up and kick up the butt you may need to get to the gym or nail that first meeting of the day. You can even set the app to The Rock’s own schedule – but I wouldn’t advise that unless you want to get up at 4.30am every single day.

Momentum – Free

Most days we don’t just need motivation to get out of bed we need it during the lunch time lull, we need it at 3pm when you looked at the clock and thought it was 4.30pm, we need it when Susan in Marketing just won’t stop telling you about how great she was when she did your job and how much she got done in the day. Momentum will turn your computer into your own personal cheerleader!
