Halloween is just around the corner, and we’re so ready for all the sweets and spooks! If you’re also into all things horror, monsters and ghosts, have you thought about pursuing a career that involves it all?
Here are some exciting jobs to consider if you want to give a spooky or mysterious touch to your career:

Forensic pathologist

Not many people would choose to hang around dead bodies for their day-to-day work, but hey, if you’re one of them – go for it!

As a forensic pathologist, you can expect to be determining the medical causes of death or, sometimes, the manner of death. Other duties include weighting and taking samples of the body tissues and analysing them. Forensic pathologists then report back the results and findings to the corner.

Although this job is certainly not for everyone, it is a very valuable profession that provides answers to those who lost their loved ones, so you can make a significant impact in this career.

If you’d like a different twist to this job, look up forensic entomology - it’s application and scientific study of insect and other arthropod biology to criminal matters.

Forensic scientist

Do you just love to indulge in crime investigation series? Are you obsessed with finding answers and resolving tricky crimes or scenes? Then look no further the forensic science!

Forensic science includes the processes involved in crime scene examinations, including the various specialist areas supporting major investigations. Some of these include fingerprint analysis, forensic chemistry and DNA, bloodstain pattern analysis, cause of death, archaeology of gravesites, and the legal and judicial processes required to ensure a successful trial.

This is a very dynamic job, and you need to be curious and driven to persist and seek answers even when they’re not obvious, available or easy to find.

Ghost walk tour guide

Believe it or not, most big cities offer ghost tours somewhere, do some research, and you’ll see for yourself.

Such tours usually include some history, local tales and landmarks. Often, they will offer different themes and special nights, such as Halloween, private tours, day and night and many others.

If you believe in ghosts and spirits or have a passion for history and storytelling, you would find this job very entertaining. The downside is that there aren’t too many jobs to choose from, as there isn’t an abundance of ghost tours out there, but worth a check if you’re interested.

Hunted house staff

In comparison to ghost walk tours, there are plenty of hunted houses out there. There are diverse roles in hunted houses, so you can probably find something you fancy.

For example, you can be an actor and play different roles. You may come across vampires, various monsters, clowns, or whatever freaky creatures they have in the house. Depending on your background or education, you can work on costumes and sets or management or admin services.

Horror book or scriptwriter

If you love to write or speak, here’s your chance to create and share horror and thriller stories with the world! There’s plenty of ways to do so these days. Did you know that you can self-publish books on Amazon Prime for free? Alternatively, you can write a blog, a social media page, or write an actual book and seek publishers.

If you’re more into speaking than writing, horror podcasts might be your thing. They are becoming more and more popular recently. So, why not create your series of spooky stories?

This can even be a hobby that you can later turn into a business, who knows?
