How did you get your started?
I’ve been writing online since 2004 with e newsletters which eventually evolved into a blog I created when I was in the motivational speaking industry. So I’ve been blogging for a long time. The blog I had then simply called debbie-carr.com was all about business, motivation and inspiration stories and I always got good feedback from my posts. When I met Arrnott Olssen I was inspired to do a blog about Sydney and with Arnott’s encouragement I started Sydney Chic and shut the other one down. I had no idea it would grow so fast and to date I’ve done over 600 posts. I will mention though it’s a lot of hard work, many long hours and luckily I’m one of those people who can hang in there.
Three words that describe you?
Courageous, Honest, Friendly
Who or what inspires you?
I’m inspired by people who give something a go that they truly believe in. To me success isn’t about having millions of dollars in the bank, it’s about following a passion and dream and sticking to it. Success is when you do what you love, and people who are happy doing what they love inspire me.
What's your dream project?
To develop a full time speaking career and teaching others what I know. Of course growing Sydney Chic as well, I’ll never give that up.
I Can't Live without
My daughters, Soy Latte and Mascara.
A Little Something
My other life is as a social media marketer, and ghost blogger as well as tutor for blogging. I actually write blogs for my clients and post on their social media accounts. Sometimes I create graphics for them, videos and a whole range of interesting things to grow their social media accounts. At Sydney Community College I teach social media and blogging.
