The first step to any career change is to get a clear understanding of what is important to you so that you can then figure out next steps to finding a career that you love.
WAIT - HAVE YOU DONE OUR CAREER QUIZ? OH MAN, THIS WHOLE THING WILL MAKE A LOT MORE SENSE IF YOU DO THAT FIRST.

It’s taken me years, many failed career attempts and a lot of resumes sent to potential employees for me to finally realise that a 9 – 5 desk job wasn’t for me. My role is varied but it also gives me the flexibility to travel frequently, I was lucky that at 31 I have finally found what I wanted to be when I grew up!
Let’s be honest, we all have those days when we feel like we live to work, bills pile in, most of us live well beyond our means and the fear of leaving something stable to chase a passion can all be a little daunting. You need to think about what makes you tick, what motivates you and the types of environments you excel in and then do everything you can to get into the industry you so desire.
Here are my top four tips to get you on the track to job satisfaction and a role you actually love!
1. Talk to a Career Counselor
Career counselors help others figure out what they want for a living, and they’ll have insights and tools to help you zero in on the things you love most and do best, and also be able to offer ideas and guidance on how to find a career that best suits those passions. Take advantage of those resources.
2. Leverage Social Media
More than ever, we live in a social world. Once you’ve identified what it is that you love, get busy on Facebook, and LinkedIn, connecting with people who share your areas of interest. Read blogs, join forums, and find out what it’s really like to do what you love.
3. Start Saving Money
Once you feel strongly that you want to start down this new path, my advice is to start saving! The more money you have in the bank, the less finances will have to rule your decisions. It will give you the time you need to go to interviews, sharpen your skills in a class or give you the safety you need you jump right into becoming an entrepreneurial genius!
4. Just Do It
Ultimately, you won’t really know what you love to do unless you actually bite the bullet and give it a go! It is a scary leap but it should excite you because you are on your way to finding a career that you love!
