Inspiring people: The Handicrafter

Scott's been a staple of Australian renovation television since 2000, appearing on Backyard Blitz to do all of the carpentry and architectural stuff that the team on the show needed to get done. Since then, he's been everywhere, showing Australians of every generation the tips and tricks to create their own stuff at home. He's won awards for being a beloved television presenter, hosts a radio segment, and has written two books, all so that he can ensure that everyone can roll up their sleeves and give it a go.

The Handicrafter is a practical person who isn't at home just sitting behind a desk and telling other people how to do things and where - they love to get their hands dirty and help out wherever they can. Even though he's the host of his shows, and could probably sit back and just watch the contestants suffer, on The Block Scott regularly steps in to lend a hand and his expertise because he's the kind of guy who can't just watch something go wrong without doing something about it.

However, it's not all just about brawn, there's brains too: the Handicrafter has a good head for mathematics, spacial reasoning and numbers so that all of their crafts line up perfectly. Measure twice, cut once, as they say!
