Required Skills

  • Working on roster basis (morning and afternoon shifts)
  • Must be able to work at Sydney International Airport and hold an ASIC Security Card 
  • Actively participate in best practice delivery and high standards of customer service
  • Be familiar with product and service procedures
  • Monitor food and beverage quality and stock control & recommend improvement of operations to management
  • Develop a sound working relationship with work colleagues and other departments
  • Ensure all lounge/outlet, back of house and public areas are maintained to specify levels of cleanliness, maintenance and presentation and to instigate appropriate action where necessary.  
  • Conduct daily briefings and staff duty delegation
  • Contribute to a safe working environment ensuring all staff are properly trained in safe working procedures
  • Assist in planning fortnightly rosters and work schedules

Role Description

  • Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, like knives, pans and kitchen scales
  • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
  • Cook food in a timely manner
  • Delegate tasks to kitchen staff
  • Inform wait staff about daily specials
  • Ensure appealing plate presentation
  • Supervise Cooks and assist as needed
  • Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
  • Monitor food stock and place orders
  • Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
