  • Good school results and solid reports for attitude and attendance
  •  A Pre-apprenticeship or Certificate II in Engineering is a strong advantage
  •  Commitment to complete a four year Engineering Tradesperson Apprenticeship
  •  Ability to pass a full medical, drug and alcohol screen
  •  Strong appreciation and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety and the wearing of PPE
  •  Class 1 Drivers Licence and own transport
  •  Permanent resident or Australian Citizenship AND live in Perth Metropolitan area

Role Description

Boilermakers and Welders work mostly in heavy industry on site or in engineering workshops.

Conditions are often dirty, hot, dusty and noisy. Boilermakers and Welders are required to wear PPE including leather gloves or welding gauntlets, ear plugs, breathing apparatus, and welding masks or helmets.

Initially the apprentice will assist the tradespersons, doing general duties such as workshop maintenance and deliveries while learning various aspects of the trade. They will train on the job and attend off the job, formal training.
