Options

  • LV Mechanics Apprentices who what to complete there trades on a full time basis on a mine site/s and remain as LV fitters.
  • LV Mechanics Apprentices who are looking to switch from Light Vehicle to Heavy Duty Mechanics, who are currently 3rd/4th yr or one to two yrs out of there time.

Pre-requisites   

 

  • Nearing completion or completed a Cert III & Trade Cert in Light Vehicle Mechanics - AUS/NZ Recognized
  • Experience with Toyota vehicles essential
  • A/C license and experience advantageous but not essential
  • Willingness to travel to site at short notice
  • A committed and driven attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to work on various sites/rosters.
  • Previous exposure to heavy machinery and site experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong attitude towards safety with a thorough understanding of the industry standards and expectations.
  • Current manual drivers’ license
  • High Risk Work License – desirable
  • Able to complete and pass a pre-employment medical and DAS
  • Able to provide a current National Police Clearance

About the Job (roles and responsibilities)

 

For LV fitters looking to remain on the LV trade Cert -

  • Daily preventative and scheduled maintenance on light vehicles and various light equipment.
  • Various breakdown repairs and diagnostics.
  • Ensure a safe workplace is maintained and comply with site safety standards.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and autonomously.
  • 7 on 7 off rosters running days and nights.

 

For LV fitters looking to upgrade to HD –

  • Daily preventative and scheduled maintenance on heavy vehicles – Underground trucks, loaders and drills between TAFE duties.
  • Various breakdown repairs and diagnostics in a workshop setting and field service.
  • Ensure a safe workplace is maintained and comply with site safety standards.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and autonomously.
  • 7 on 7 off rosters running days and nights.
