Are you a big fan of all things Italian? Come on, who isn't?
Pizza, pasta, glasses of Aperol spritz and Vespas could all become part of your daily life if you are one of the four people lucky enough to be selected to volunteer in the hilltop village of Grottole, in southern Italy.
The opportunity has come about thanks to a partnership between Airbnb and a local Grottole NGO, Wonder Grottole, in a bid to help energise the quaint village of just 300 inhabitants.
You’ll be learning Italian, sharing the stories of the intrepid locals and generally being an active, helpful member of the community.
As well as all that, you’ll also be an official Airbnb co-host, showing off the town (which is sure to quickly become your second home) to visitors.
Airbnb co-founder and chief product officer Joe Gebbia explained the opportunity came about with the hope of shining a light on the beauty of rural Italy.
“We want to help preserve these communities so they continue for generations to come,” he explained.
How to apply
1. Be over 18
2. Be available to move to Grottole for three months from June to August 2019
