Finished the career quiz! … what’s next?

Review the long list of career options and think about:

  • what you like and dislike?
  • what you value and don't value?
  • what you believe and don't believe?
  • what interests you and what doesn't?
  • what you're good at and not good at?
  • what you enjoy and don't enjoy?

Write your ideas down as you think of them. Knowing yourself helps you identify what you want from a job, learning or life in general.

Think about:

  • the type of environment you would like to work in (eg. office, outdoors)
  • things that interest you
  • the skills you would like to learn
  • the subjects you could study at school to prepare you for an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • Who you can talk to in the area that interests you, find out the positives / negatives.

Decide what your 'non-negotiable' values, motivators, skills and interests are.

For example - determine what factors are critical to your job satisfaction, such as what is your preferred: location, salary, industry, work style and lifestyle.

These final 'non-negotiables' fill in the blanks of all the essential criteria and create a short list of suitable career options for YOU.
