Are you an Indigenous person?
As an Indigenous Australian it can sometimes be difficult to find employment and careers assistance due to a range of factors such as living in a remote area. Although there are many resources and services available to assist you, it can be hard to know where to find them and how to access them.
Here are a few:
- Aboriginal Employment Strategy
- Indigenous Youth Mobility Program
- Australian Indigenous Education Foundation
- Indigenous Cadetship Support
- Job Services Australia

Read about our latest Indigenous star, Belinda Frail who has moved to the city and just completed her traineeship!
Relocating from your home town in far Western NSW to Sydney after just finishing school, as well as starting a traineeship as your first job can be a daunting experience, but Belinda Frail has just done all of this with flying colours!
Belinda comes from Brewarrina which is located in far Western NSW halfway between Bourke and Walgett and close to the Qld border. She left home, without the support network of family and friends close by, to embark upon a new journey in Sydney early in 2011.
Belinda’s story is one of inspiration. She has not only made the successful transition from school to her first job after finishing her HSC in 2010, but also completed a qualification at the same time!
Belinda was employed by the Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES) group training organisation as a trainee and hosted by Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre to work throughout her traineeship this year. She has just graduated with a Certificate II in Business, and after doing a fantastic job and showing an outstanding level of personal commitment and passion over the last twelve months she has accepted an offer to work with Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre full time from 2012.
