About Skillsroad

If you're ready to start your career, enjoy practical work and want to gain skills on the job, Skillsroad is for you.

We specialise in apprenticeship and traineeship careers. If you're not sure what you want to do, Skillsroad can help you make this important decision.

We post job vacancies on our jobs board, match you with potential employers and give you useful job hunting tips.

Things you can do:

  • search and register for apprenticeship and traineeship vacancies. Once your details are online, businesses can actively search for you. If your interests match their criteria, your first job might just find you!
  • sign up for email alerts so you don't miss any opportunities
  • learn what some young apprentices and trainees have already achieved in their chosen trade or occupation
  • discover the advantages of gaining practical on-the-job skills versus going to university for further academic education
  • find out about the money you can earn while you're training and the kind of money you could be earning when you're qualified. Your skills will be in demand and you'll be paid well for them.

Who is behind Skillsroad?

Skillsroad is brought to you by Australian Business Limited Apprenticeships Centre (ABLAC) and Australian Business Talent (AB Talent).

ABLAC has over ten years' experience in the successful sign up and support of thousands of apprentices and trainees. We currently work with more than 80,000 apprentices and trainees, and over 15,000 employers. AB Talent is the recruitment service that works alongside ABLAC to help employers fill vacancies and place candidates who are looking for roles.

We help employers and their apprentices and trainees throughout the apprenticeship or traineeship with advice, support and useful information. If you are an employer looking to advertise on Skillsroad and find an apprentice or trainee, AB Talent can help you to:

  • identify your skill requirements
  • attract talented people
  • reduce time to hire
  • promote your company as a great place to work.
